A crane crashed into a street in the Bronx, New York, and fell directly on top of a car
A fatal accident occurred on Tuesday, September 20 in New York City when a crane at Jerome Avenue and Bedford Boulevard fell on a vehicle at a crosswalk.
According to authorities obtained by NBC, a woman was inside the car when the crane fell on the driver’s side diagonally onto the windshield.

The vehicle was stopped at the traffic light and was the only one on the road at the time. The dramatic accident was captured by a security camera at the scene and published by ABC News.
The 22-year-old woman, who was the only one in the car, did not suffer major injuries, only minor injuries to her hands due to the broken window. She was transferred to St. Barnabas Hospital for treatment.
Near the site, at least 29 construction workers were asked to stop work and leave the premises as a safety precaution, pending an assessment by the Department of Buildings, NBC reported.

The building official’s statements were that the crane was being used to lift a load of bars when the arm fell with the result that it fell onto the crane truck and into the vehicle.
