New York Yankees right-hander Francelis “Frankie” Montas was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday due to shoulder discomfort that the Dominican started to feel in the last start last Friday against the Brewers.
The transaction is retroactive to Saturday, September 17th. The Dominican lost playing time this year while still with the Athletics because of a similar irritation.
So far this year, Montas is 5-12 with a 4.05 ERA through 27 starts. However, since joining the Yankees at the trade deadline, the veteran has posted a 6.35 ERA in eight starts, going 1-3.
The Yankees also activated Harrison Bader, who hasn’t pitched in a big game since June 26 — when he was still with the Cardinals — because of plantar fasciitis in his right foot.
